Our Beers

The Hereford brewery beer range is a development of the old Spinning Dog range. A few Spinning Dog recipes have been kept but our increased capacity has seen several news beers introduced into the Hereford range. We hope to continue this trend and introduce an ever changing monthly beer program and in addition to this from time to time we run a guest ale program from other breweries.

We bottle five different beers that are sold in cases of 12 x 500ml. Prices start from £19.00 per case. Our bottled beer range consists of Original, Best Bitter, Gamekeepers Bitter, Oatmeal Stout and Mutley's Revenge.

PERMANENT RANGE

Owd Bull 3.9%

A light copper session ale. Initial bitterness leads to a pleasing hoppy aftertaste.

Gamekeepers Bitter 4.2%

A rich chestnut coloured ale with fruit notes and a hint of coffee.

Hereford Best Bitter 4.2%

Full bodied amber coloured best bitter, rich in malt undertones with a fresh fruity aroma.

Hereford Light Ale 4.0%

Brewed along the lines of the award-winning Mutleys Pitstop. A crisp, light and refreshing made with Herefordshire hops.

OCCASIONAL RANGE

Cathedral Bitter 4.0%

A crisp amber beer made with local hops, producing a well-rounded malt/hop bitterness throughout and a pleasing, lingering aftertaste.

Celtic Gold 4.5%

A crisp golden beer with a well rounded malt/hop bitterness.

Hereford Dark 4.0%

A dark, malty mild with a hint of bitterness and a touch of roast caramel. A smooth drinkable ale.

Herefordian Mild 4.0%

A new Dark Mild for 2011, making its debut in time for "Mild in May" month.

Hereford Original Bitter 4.1%

Pale flavoursome brew, using Spalt hops on the boil and Challenger at the finish to give a smooth aftertaste.

Hop Harvester 4.2%

Oatmeal Stout 4.4%

A blend of oats and barley along with Hallertau hops.

Spinning Dog Ale 4.5%

A premium copper coloured ale.

Knight's Templar 4.8%

A new beer for 2011, no description yet....

Mutley's Revenge 4.8%

A strong, smooth, hoppy beer, amber in colour. Full-bodied with a dry, citrus aftertaste.

Mutt's Nutts 5.0%

A dark, strong ale, full bodied with a hint of a chocolate aftertaste.

Castle Gates 6.5%

A new beer making its debut during April/May 2011.

ONE OFFS, But You Never Know....

Aurora Weissbier 5.0%

Brewed in the Summer of 2010, this is a German style wheat beer, naturally cloudy and with a distict banana aroma.

Chopper In 4.3%

A special beer brewed for the Royal wedding in April 2011.
